CLIENT USE CASES
KYC & DUE DILIGENCE
A major commodity trading company wished to outsource its third-party due diligence process in order to free up time for its in-house compliance team. Kalexius designed an updated process and deployed a team of six FTEs to operate the client’s third-party due diligence process as an outsourced service. The client achieved significant cost-savings on third-party management while freeing up time for its compliance team to focus on their core activities. Kalexius cleared the existing backlog and implemented an annual review of all relevant relationships in order to maintain compliance on an ongoing basis.
REGULATORY MAPPING
A Fortune 500 company needed to conduct legal research on an ongoing global basis. The client wished to increase the quality and output from the in-house team. Kalexius initially audited the in-house team to provide improvement recommendations. The client made the decision to outsource the in-house team to Kalexius. Leveraging Kalexius offshore resources, local law database and the Kalexius network of local partner firms led to a 30% cost-saving for the client. We improved the quality of research while decreasing turnaround times. More was able to be done with the same cost base which had a positive effect on the client’s margins.
RESTRUCTURING & TRANSACTION SUPPORT
A large agri-food corporation needed to replace their vendor contract negotiation team that was being dismantled due to a voluntary redundancy scheme. Kalexius set up a 3-FTE team with a mix of on-shore senior lawyers and offshore junior lawyers. Leveraging offshore resources and more junior lawyers led to a 30/40 % cost savings for the client. The new team felt motivated and more focused; they managed to improve both quality and turnaround times compared to previous in-house teams.
BAU – MERGER & ACQUISITION
Our client needed assistance with its business-as-usual M&A projects but had no budget to hire a resource. We identified a seasoned lawyer with a robust background in both law firm and in-house settings, who could ably support the client’s team in managing their business-as-usual (BAU) workload. This enabled the client’s team to concentrate on strategic transactions, while our experienced lawyer promptly contributed to the BAU projects, delivering immediate value.
REGULATORY – DERIVATIVES
In the aftermath of a team member’s resignation, our client encountered challenges in sourcing a suitable replacement. They required temporary assistance on short notice. To address this need, we assigned one of our experts in the field to their team for a period of over a year, providing uninterrupted support until they were able to successfully onboard a new hire.
ACQUISITION PROJECT – IT/IP LAW
A division of a prominent public company was undergoing acquisition and required additional support, particularly in the realm of IT contracts. We supplied them with a seasoned IT/IP specialist who joined their team for a four-month period, assisting them in managing the increased workload in a timely manner.
